Gavin Potter was until recently responsible for IBM's Centre for Business Optimisation in Europe charged with bringing new mathematical ideas to market. However, he has always enjoyed working with small companies and is also the founder of Spreadsheet Innovations Ltd, which produce the leading spreadsheet audit, testing and documentation tool. He has a wide interest in the future of business and how it will adopt new technologies which he summarises in his book - Business in a Virtual World. He has a first class degree from Oxford University and a Masters in Operational Research from Sussex University.
Adam Dakin is Managing Director of Telereal, a £4Bn property company. Telereal specialises in large complex deals, and is distinguished in this area by its market leading mathematical and analytical capability, around which the whole company is built. Prior to Telereal Adam spent much of his career applying mathematics to business issues in leading European companies such as Ericsson, Centrica and PwC. Adam is also experienced in building startup businesses; he was the founder of, and remains a shareholder in, Communicaid the UK's leading language and cultural training company and a leader in provision of online training. He has a first class Mathematics degree from Cambridge University.
Eric Grunwald runs Perihelion, a business strategy consultancy. Since taking a D Phil at Oxford on Analysis on Manifolds, he has worked in the manufacturing, energy, and service sectors with ICI, Shell, and BUPA, for whom he was Group Strategy Director. While with Shell, he spent seven years working in Thailand and Malaysia. He has spent his career in applying mathematical ways of thinking to management, tactical, and strategic issues, and is an expert in using narrative techniques to help organisations think about their futures. He has written several articles and reviews for The Mathematical Intelligencer.
