Mathematical Capital is a new UK venture capital firm specialising in funding early stage mathematical startups. Our aim is to help those with mathematical ideas move from idea to company. To do this we offer not only money, but also advice, support and incubation.
We invest only in ideas that have mathematics as their base, either new mathematics or old mathematics applied to a new area. That's because we believe that the time is right for a massive expansion in ideas about how to apply maths, because it's what we know best, and because we haven't found anyone else who has put together the expertise to specifically support mathematicans and operational researchers in their endeavours to bring ideas to market and make a little money.
We suspect that many of the ideas will require the production of a commercial software package. But don't worry, we can help you there. Although we are all mathematically trained, we've also over 80 years experience in bringing mathematical ideas to market - both in development and in sales.
The Netflix prize
Mathematical Capital is pleased to announce that it is sponsoring a European team to compete for the Netflix prize. You can follow our progress here. If have ideas that need sponsoring, why not get in touch.
